This month I'm daring to explore Love & Romance.

So last month was a little heavy with all that talk about Self-Love, Self-Discovery and finding true Joy. This month let's hopefully lighten things up and talk about Joy & Love with other people!
It might be a little cliche to be focused on Romance around Valentines Day but sometimes when connections are obvious we just need to take the opportunity.
I've never been a huge fan of Valentine's Day mostly because;
1. It crowds by Birthday which is Feb. 10th and...
2. I feel its been commercialized like Christmas
More on this next week most likely...I mean I'm not a hater of the day either just saying, I like love and things of the sort. Also, I feel the tradition of St. Valentine where the day came from is a story for the ages for sure...
But I've found that MOST not all people tend to fall into one of two attitudes with it;
1. We don't need one day to show our love, should be everyday!
2. Its one of the most beautiful significant days of the year to show something and if you don't something is wrong or missing in this relationship!
Which are you??
To finish off this first Blog for February which is my favourite month by the way. It is my Birthday, it is Black History month, the NBA All-Star game is always in February which I LOVE (fitting of course), and it will now be the release date & future anniversary of my Book(s)!
So in the spirit of last week's Blog on Happiness/Joy and a transition to this one...I encourage you to consider what are the things you Love? Maybe its time to make a list of them, maybe that list will be just for you if you've never done it. Or maybe its time to share that with significant people in your life because maybe they have no idea.
If you have a significant other i.e. boyfriend, girlfriend, spouse or if not an important family member, a best friend or your children or siblings what matters is they are close to you and you want to cultivate the relationship...
Ask them this week if, they know you well enough to tell you things they think YOU love?
Hopefully, this exercise will offer you insight into how other people see you and if who you are shines through to others in the things you allow yourself to enjoy and share with others...Please DO NOT take this opportunity to punish anyone in word or disappointment motivated action if, they don't know what you love. If you run into this consider it could be;
1. Just that you either don't know yourself what it is you love and so no one else can know
2. You don't allow yourself the joy of these things so people would never know or
3. The people in your life don't pay attention enough to know
Whatever the case is, I believe we need to search ourselves to know what brings us joy, we need to allow ourselves the appropriate moments to enjoy them (within reason of course), and it is important for others to know as well either by us communicating if need be or just by them witnessing us "living our best life!"
Thank you for reading this week please like, comment & share!
Don't forget the Book comes out this Sunday my "Landmark Birthday" Feb. 10th watch for it!

Kevin thank you for challenging us to know ourselves better and identify the things we Love. I will do this exercise and share it with my loved ones. Not to see how much they know about me but to stebgrhrn our understandings of each other and grow our relationships. You are an amazing man. I’m so proud of you! Carol McLaughlin
